SUMMER, 2024
The Unknown Depths has been selected as a Finalist at Cineverse’s HybridGenre USA film festival in Los Angeles. The event kicks off on September 14 in Hollywood.
Our film is a finalist for multiple awards, including Best Director in the Short category. Those interested in attending the screening should visit the festival’s Eventbrite page for details on getting tickets!

While our film is winding down its festival run, our cast and crew is gaining industry accolades!
- Lead Actor Juan Sanchez-Molina can be found on Paramount + in Fatal Attraction and Netflix’s Heist.
- Executive Producer Carl Reid’s chilling documentary Mama! can be found on Prime Video
- Director Matt Devine’s award-winning sci-fi feature Red Earth is now available on Prime Video and Apple TV+
- Composer Markus Illko won a 2024 Grammy Award with his band “The String Revolution”
FALL, 2023
The Unknown Depths has been announced as an Official Selection at Ithaca, New York’s 2023 Silent City Film Festival. The festival will take place from October 5-8 in Ithaca.
We will update our social media with more information on screening dates, times and locations and, of course, how to attend Silent City!
SUMMER, 2023
The Unknown Depths will have a limited showing as part of a double-screening event at the historic Laemmle Theatres’ Santa Monica location. The short will play after a screening of Red Earth, a sci-fi feature produced and starred in by our very own Matt “TK” Devine.
The event starts at 10:30am on Saturday, July 22nd. Tickets are $12 and available at the Laemmle Online Box Office. Contact us for details on how to attend.
SPRING, 2023
The Unknown Depths was awarded a “Gold Remi Award” by the selection committee at the 2023 WorldFest – Houston International Film Festival. This is the equivalent of an “A” grade, something only films in the 90th percentile of films submitted to the festival receive. In a competition of over 4,000 films, this is an honorable distinction and one we are proud to receive!

The World Premiere of The Unknown Depths screened at Friday, April 28 at the AMC Sundial 12 in St. Petersburg, Florida, at the 18th Sunscreen Film Festival. In attendance was writer/director Matt Devine and narrator Daryl Anthony Harper, and a wonderful crowd of supportive moviegoers.
